Yamuna
River
Here
you will find a lovely river with great history; Mahseer
anglers have been fishing these stretches since the days of
the British occupying India, and accounts of large catches
of huge fish were commonplace.
Red-fin,
Yellow-fin and golden Mahseer, Indian Trout, Mulley and
Goonch catfish are all found in this pristine river, so you
can use a variety of styles to catch a whole spectrum of
species.
Other likely spots for fishing from here are the famous
Tajuwala canal works, Dakpatthar and Hathnikund but for
these particular beats the water conditions need to be
right, so timing is critical. Overnight trips to the Giri
River can also be arranged, where you will find some classic
Mahseer fishing.
This
area is also a bird watchers paradise, the Asan Barrage
close by is home to the rare Greater Crested Grebe, and many
other waterfowl both resident and migratory.
